Faye Evelyn Perry Russ, Horace Mann Class of 1961.

Public school education from 1st through 12th Grades: Charlotte E. Stephens Elementary 1949-1955, Paul Laurence Dunbar Junior High 1955-1958. Then without warning the "lost year" appeared. All the LR high schools were closed by order of the governor my 10th grade year. Fortunately, I was able to enroll at Pulaski County Training School in McAlmont, AR 1958-1959. When Little Rock high school reopened the following year, I attended Horace Mann Senior High 1959-1961.

In 2005 I retired from a career in health care and immediately embraced a labor of love as Co-director of the Horace Mann High School History Project "The Nearly Forgotten Journey".
